Rammstein is a Neue Deutsche Härte group founded in Berlin, Germany, in 1994. The members of the band are Till Lindemann (vocals), Richard Kruspe (guitar), Paul Landers (guitar), Christian Lorenz (keyboards), Oliver Riedel (bass) and Christoph Schneider (drums).
Rammstein is known for its aggressive and dark music, provocative stage shows and German lyrics.
The band has sold more than 20 million albums worldwide and is one of the most successful German bands in the world.
Rammstein was founded in 1994 by Richard Kruspe and Till Lindemann. Kruspe was a musician born in East Germany and Lindemann was a poet in Dresden.
The two decided to form a band together and sought out other musicians.
The first members to join the group were Paul Landers and Christian Lorenz. Landers was Kruspe's childhood friend and Lorenz was a keyboard player. Later, Oliver Riedel and Christoph Schneider joined the group. Riedel was a bassist and Schneider was a drummer.
Rammstein released their first album, "Herzeleid", in 1995. The album was a huge success in Germany and helped the band achieve international fame.
Rammstein, subsequent albums, "Sehnsucht" (1997), "Mutter" (2001), "Reise, Reise" (2004), "Rosenrot" (2005), "Liebe ist für alle da" (2009) and " He continued his success with "Zeit" (2022).
The band has toured worldwide and performed at many festivals. Rammstein is also known for its live performances.
The group uses fire, explosives and pyrotechnic effects in their stage shows.
Rammstein makes music in a genre known as Neue Deutsche Härte (New German Hardcore). This genre is a mixture of genres such as metal, industrial and techno. Rammstein's music is aggressive and dark. The band often touches on violence, sex and taboo topics in their lyrics.
